Newspapers are the most up-to-date textbook you can use in your classroom!

Here is a top ten list for why you should use newspapers everyday!

10. It's an inexpensive, if not FREE tool you can obtain for your classroom, which makes sense in hard economical times.

9. Serial Stories! We print serial story chapters every Tuesday and Thursday. Kids look forward to reading, isn't that a nice thought?

8. The Kidz Forum! Every Tuesday the students can read what other students are saying in the community. And it's paired with the Kid Scoop materials!

7. Supplements! They are free and jam packed full of current subject matter that help you meet state standards.

6. Teacher workshops and other events in the area. What better way to find out about NIE workshops and other educational events. The Forum always has you covered. Oh - and our workshops are always fun, interactive and full of great food and prizes.

5. Contests! The Forum NIE has contests from pets calendars to ticket giveaways to our teachers just because we appreciate you.

4. Teacher appreciation night at the Redhawks! It happens every year and only those teachers who subscribe to NIE get invited.

3. Stories, headlines and breaking news! The Forum is the first place people turn when they need to know what's happening in our community. Whether you subscribe to our e-edition or our paper copies, it's all in there for you everyday!

2. Advertisements! You can use any of the tools in The Forum to teach math, problem-solving skills and teaching students how to follow directions.
